Our crazy month so far...

We have been a busy little family the last month, and boy am I ready for a break! The weather turned wacky shortly after my last post… First, Aiden was diagnosed with strep on Monday, January 31st. Of course he missed school that day, and was scheduled to be out most, if not all of the week due to his strep. However, a big ice storm hit Monday night and school was closed the remainder of the week. So, luckily he only missed one day of school! It didn’t take him long to start feeling better, and by Friday, after the ice was covered by about 7” of snow he and Adam, (I was at work) were able to get out and play – even SKI in the snow.(check out our photo album to see the video).

During the crazy weather, and being stuck at home with strep, Aiden lost tooth #2. He was really excited!!

By Saturday, (the day after Adam was able to ski down our driveway) there was no trace of snow left in Keller, (crazy!). Adam and Ryann got all dolled up and headed to the Daddy Daughter Dance. They had a wonderful time. I’m so happy that this is something special they get to do each year. And, oh my word; you have to go check out the pictures to see how grown up she is!!!!

The following week we had another crazy sleet storm that closed the school mid week. We are so very blessed that if need be Adam has the option to work from home – otherwise we would have used up a huge chunk of our PTO/vacation time on all these silly ice/snow days. But, everyone was back to school/work the next day. Then on Friday Aiden’s class went on a field trip to the Fort Worth science museum. I took the day off and tagged along. It was a lot of fun! That afternoon I helped get the school ready for the family Valentines Dance. Adam, Aiden and I attended, Ryann was with her mom; we all had a really great time. Aiden REALLY wants to learn how to break dance, (Lord help us!). And boy is Mr. Popularity! We couldn’t take 5 steps with out some little boy/girl running up to tell him “hi”. It amazes me that so many of the older kids know who he is. I’m really glad he able to make friends so easily.

Aiden's class had been “interviewed” for a special in the paper for Valentine’s Day. He is too sweet! - I'll post that later. Wednesday he was at school for a few hours before the nurse called to let me know he was complaining of being nauseous and was clammy, and running a low grade fever. Kay picked him up and he spent the day laying on her couch. By that evening he seemed to be feeling fine, but since he did have a low grade fever we opted to keep him home again Thursday. By the time I got home he seemed to be back to his old self, and we headed out to “test drive” a new soccer team/coach. We all really liked this coach, and a lot of the parents, so I think we may stick with them, unless Aiden decides he wants to take a break – Lord knows I’d love one….. but, if not we’ll be looking at 2 practices a week, and 1 game…. We’re all back at school and work for this fine Friday. I am SO ready for the weekend! It’s been a tough couple of weeks.

Adam is picking up Ryann today, and she’ll head to the orthodontist office. It’s time for her braces to be tightened, but she’ll also be getting a bracket replaced, that was broken off while eating a raw carrot. She’ll also have to get the wire fixed that she popped off and get fitted for a new retainer- she lost hers at school.

Tonight we’re headed to the Rainforest CafĂ© to celebrate Aiden’s birthday with Gamma and Papa, his birthday is Monday, and his party is next Saturday but Gamma and Papa will be on a cruise ship soaking up the sun, so we’re going to have fun with them tonight!

Tomorrow Aiden will participate at the local DI competition. He has really enjoyed working with his team, and has had a lot of fun preparing. I’m hopeful the team will do well at tomorrows tournament!

Monday is Aiden’s SIXTH birthday!!! I’m a little heartbroken. I just can’t believe how fast these six years have gone.

Check back for pictures of our little princess, and birthday boy soon.

We hope you all have the most amazing weekend!
