Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!

Bye bye ’08, you were a good year; we enjoyed our time with you. But, we’re SO excited to see what ’09 has in store for us!

2008 really was a great year; it was full of amazing blessings for our little family. My favorite being, (or at lease one of my top 5)….. my return to the working world! I know; I had some reservations about it in the beginning. But, now I couldn’t be happier with my decision to return to work! Not to mention the job, which I was truly blessed with, is amazing. I work for an awesome corporation and with a great group of people… so for me this was one of my favorite things about ’08.

2008 brought some new and exciting things for the rest of the family too…. Ryann is now in the FIRST grade, kinda crazy huh? She started learning the violin and ballet, lost her fist tooth! Scored her first goal in soccer!!! What an exciting year for our princess!

We found out what a little smarty Aiden is in ‘08! At just 3 years old he finishes up this year working on a combination of kindergarten and first grade school work!! He started 2 new schools, and moved up another level in gymnastics!

Adam changed jobs within Lockheed this year, started playing indoor soccer, got his little body in great physical shape, all while working on his masters in systems engineering, (which he’ll finish up in August!)

Like I said it was a good year! We’re so excited to see what new adventures are in store for our family and yours in 2009!

Please have a wonderful and SAFE New Years Eve!

I’ve updated our photo albums, instead of seeing an individual album for each month of ’08 on the main page, you’ll see albums for each year; there is an album for each month within each yearly album… Enjoy!

Happy New Year,
Adam, Courtney, Ryann and Aiden

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas! We hope you all had a great one! Ours was just perfect. Our whole year has been full of amazing blessing, and our Christmas was no different. We were able to enjoy all of our wonderful family traditions, and might have even added a few.

The kids, Adam and I visited Prairie Lights this year. Gamma and Papa came along for the ride. This was a great deal of fun, and something I hope we can look forward to doing every year. There was a long line, and I was afraid it would soon turn into a nightmare, but we stuck it out; and I’m so happy we did. I think it was JUST what we all needed to get us into the Christmas spirit.

We built, or at least attempted to build something out of Gingerbread, this year we tried a train. I say we attempted, because this in NOT something that either Adam or I are very good at. The thing always ends up falling over before we complete it, but it’s always so much fun trying!

We invited Kay and Craig over Christmas Eve for lunch and to give them the gifts we had picked for them. Lunch and the company was GREAT---as always,(the company).

The kids made cookies for Santa. This is always so much fun for everyone! This year we decided to cook them on Tuesday, and decorate them on Christmas Eve. They all turned out great!

After decorating cookies we headed to Church. In case you didn’t know, the Nabors family found a church home a few months ago. We really enjoyed having a Church home to include in our family traditions this year. After church we headed to dinner at our FAVORITE local hibachi and sushi restaurant. We decided to eat at the hibachi, not knowing this was a first for Ryann, (Aiden’s been at least a half dozen times, but somehow we’ve never been when we had both kids – who would of guessed?) She was AMAZED, and asked if we could go back the next day! LOL! After dinner we headed home to finish up our pre-Christmas traditions.

We watched the Polar Express,

Read the Night Before Christmas

Put out milk and cookies for Santa, and celery for the reindeer

Ryann woke in the morning to find that Santa had come for a visit. She RAN in woke up Adam and I, then headed to Aiden’s room to wake him. Aiden was not so thrilled about getting up that early. Adam had to carry him from his room to the living room, where he sat on Daddy’s lap until he was wake enough to realize what was going on. Once that happened all the gifts were open and played with.

We finished up Christmas at home, and then headed to Gamma and Papa’s for fellowship and fun. We came home with a car full!

Christmas is over, but you’d never know it by looking around this place. I’m not sure that our house will every fully recover from this Christmas! LOL!! We hope you are all doing great! Check out the photo albums for about a million pictures, plus; if you had a hard time following my ramblings.... the pictures do a great job telling the story of our wonderful Christmas!!

Love to all!

Dear Santa,

So there is our little guy with the big guy. I wish I could fully make you understand the excitement this little boy felt today..... It was SO cute! We waited in line, for about an hour. To my surprise Aiden didn't get board and ask to leave, as I anticipated when we first walked up and saw the snake like line. He was SO good during the wait. We talked about this and that, he talked to the surrounding kids, and I talked to the surrounding parents. Really an hour, that wouldn't mind doing over again. The kid, (he was a 7month old...with a stroller) in front of us was finishing up, I turned to Aiden and asked, "Okay, are you just about ready?" With out warning, he ducks under the black tape and RUNS for Santa.... I quickly give out a loud, "Wait!" Being the good boy he is, he turns around almost instantly and runs smack dab into the little boy's stroller..... I mean HARD! I was sure he would cry, or that the side of his face would instantly swell..... All he said, was "I'm okay, but I'm going to sit with Santa now." He was all smiles the whole time. Just before hoping down and saying good bye to the jolly old elf, he asked him for a motorcycle..... From what I understand he just wants a small one he can hold in his hand - so we'll see if Santa pulls through this year or not!

Merry Christmas!!
Oh, and if you're wondering why Ryann isn't in that picture, She likes Santa, she's just "a little shy to him...."

The Nutcracker, Revisited

Ryann's first Ballet

The Nutcraker, Revisited starring Ryann Nabors!

We've reached another exciting FIRST! Honestly, I can't tell you who was most excited about Friday night’s recital. Ryann did a great job; she made us all SO very proud! It was just about impossible to pick a picture for this post, so please visit the link to our photo albums to the right, (if your a subscriber and this was emailed to you, you'll have to visit the actual blog) and check out the rest. I've been promised more from other camera happy fans, so I'll add those once I get them. Sorry for the poor quality of these - I forgot my big camera in my car, (we were in Adam's) Anyways, enjoy the video posted above at the very least, (Ryann's little sister, Kamri is the one just to her left).

Oh, and if you've been waiting for pictures/videos from the violin performance mentioned a few post back, it was canceled due to bad weather; but there are a few videos of her practicing in the above mentioned photo albums.

Sound it out.....

Driving in the car with Aiden today, we got stopped in a LONG line of traffic by the train..... After sitting very patiently for a while Aiden let's out a rather annoyed, MOVE CAR!!! I tell him, the car can't move, because we've all been stopped by the train crossing. Just as I finish that sentence the caboose crosses and I get a rather smart, "We'll there's the end, we can go now". I kindly reply, Aiden there's a stop sign up there, every car in front of us is going to have to stop.... this is going to take a while. He follows that up with, I can spell stop. It's important to note, he has had the spelling of this word down for well over a year now. But, I play along with his game. "Oh, really? How do you spell it?" "S-T-O-P, stop; see told you I could spell it". "Okay smarty pants, how do you spell car?" "Okay Mommy, and he begins to sound it out C, C-A, C-A-R, car!" Pretty impressed, I ask, "How do you spell hat?" Again he sounds it out H, H-A, H-A-T, hat!" We went through a whole list, and he got every one of them right. So proud, we called Daddy and let him hear the big boy! I knew he would work on spelling this year in his school, but I had no idea they were already this far. We are so proud of our big guy!

When I grow up....

This post is mostly for me, because it's one of those things that as a Mommy I don't want to forget. The kids and I were sitting at Starbucks over the weekend; chit chatting about this and that... then we started talking about goals, hopes and dreams. From that we had our first ever "When I grow up" conversation. Aiden has decided he wants to be a doctor, because he wants to help people. Ryann says she wants to be a teacher, she said she also wants to help people, but "Not the same way Aiden wants to help".

Like I said, that was more of a "just for me" post; but maybe you got something out of it too... LOL!

Making Music...

Just a quick little update about our very big girl…

For those of you who don’t know, Ryann has had the opportunity to be involved in a strings program through her school this year. The program is called Suzuki Strings. On December 16, 2008 at 6:30pm the Suzuki Strings students will be performing. We were first told Ryann would not get to be involved, because at that point she had yet to hold a bow. But, we learned that yesterday Ryann got to hold a bow for the very first time, and she will get to play her violin for the whole world to hear!!!!!! While this will be a short performance, we couldn’t be more excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Admiring God's Work...

Wish my picture really captured how beautiful and amazing this really was!

"This week, stargazers are in for a spectacular display by Jupiter, Venus and a crescent Moon, as the celestial bodies prepare for a triple conjunction on the night of December 1st. Throughout this week, the bright Venus and almost just as bright Jupiter can be seen drawing closer together.

Astronomers confirmed the display will be visible with naked eye, with the two planets separated by just 2 degrees. The crescent Moon will be only 20 degrees to their lower right on Saturday night, when the two planets will be 2.4 degrees apart, Sky and Telescope Magazine informs.

“It’ll be a head-turner,” said Alan MacRobert, senior editor of Sky and Telescope, according to the Associated Press. “This certainly is an unusual coincidence for the crescent moon to be right there in the days when they are going to be closest together.”

The event is one not to miss because although such encounters take place from time to time, the celestial bodies are sometimes not visible due to being too close to the sun. Furthermore, stargazers should know that another event such as this one will take place again approximately four decades from now. "

Gearing up for Christmas!

We're steam rolling through these holidays! Thanksgiving was great, but it's over; time to move onto Christmas!

We picked up Ryann on Friday, and haven't sat still since!

Friday night we put up the trees and got them decorated, stockings hung. Then off to Adam's soccer game.

Saturday we took the kids to see Bolt - very cute movie! After the movie we headed out to the park to take our annual Christmas card picture. This was quite an adventure. It was COLD, and mommy doesn't handle the cold very well. Then the battery for my remote, (for the camera) died, which meant we had to use the timer.... do you know how hard it is to run in heals on wet grass??? Did I mention it was cold? And windy, after about 5 pictures my eyes started watering - I had mascara all over one side of my face.... Like I said it was an adventure. We ended up with a pretty cute picture, but you'll have to wait for your Christmas card to see. Here are a few others taken that day.

I LOVE these of the kids!

Afterwards we took the kids to pick a new ornament for their tree. This is one of my favorite traditions, it's always so much fun watching them pick the new one. Like with most of our shopping trips, Aiden saw exactly what he wanted, picked it and there was no changing his mind. Ryann on the other hand looked at every ornament the store had to offer, picked one - put it back, picked another- put it back, about 30 minutes later she had found the perfect one and we were headed home to add them to the tree.

Today we had church then Adam and the kids went to Gamma and Papa's while I headed out to a photo shoot. Like I said, busy weekend! The rest of the month will be much the same, busy busy! We hope you all are doing great, and if we don't see you, we hope you have a magical Holiday Season.

As always, new pictures are up.

A Heart FULL of Thanks!

We hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful, ours sure was!! Our Thanksgiving meal was at our home this year. For the past four years I've prepared the bulk of the Fuson holiday meals, I never worry or fret about any of it. This year I was a nervous wreck, I don't know if it was because I was cooking for the Nabors' side, or what. Thankfully everything turned out perfect. The whole day was really great, well everything but that A&M game.....

The tooth fairy comes to town...

"I'm rich!"

Ryann had her very first visit from the tooth fairy last night. We had to leave a note, letting the tooth fairy know, that Ryann's mommy wanted to keep her tooth for her baby book. Luckly, the tooth fairy didn't mind. Ryann thought this whole process was pretty amazing! The tooth fairy left behind a bag with a tooth brush, toothpaste, flossers, $5 and a note just for Ryann.

Her letter read:

"Hello Ryann,

Congratulations on losing your first tooth! Adults lose their teeth too when they are little.... just like Daddy adn Mommy did. Now I see that it is your turn.

Aiden and Kamri must be bary excited for you. Lots of people who live in Keller and Greenville are happy for you too! Losing your teeth is a part of growing up.

Remember to eat lots of fruits and vegetables to keep your teeth strong. Brushig your teeth ever day is a good way to keep your new grown up teeth health.

Please tell you dentist that I said "hello" during you next visit.
Tooth Fairy".

Ryann is still trying to figure out how the tooth fairy knew her brother and sister's names....

School Updates

I know it's been a while, so first let's get you caught up on school....

Ryann is doing well. She seems to enjoy school this year. She loves her teacher and has many friends. We just got her progress report for the second six week, and her grades are pretty good. She has had some minor struggles, that I think come from being in a poor school and over populated class last year. Good news this year, her teacher is AWESOME, and really sees great potential in Ryann.

Ryann is SO much like her Daddy, she pushes herself to do better and better. Last week Melony, Ryann's mom called to let Adam talk to Ryann. Ryann was crying because she made a B on her spelling test. While we don't want her to beat herself up over every B she gets, it was nice to hear that she wanted to do her very best on every assignment. I have now doubt this little smarty will go very far!

Aiden, is doing great in school too; it's hard to believe he is just 3. So hard in fact, that his school did not relize how young he is! At the begining of the school year Aiden was placed in the Pre-K class. We were told he would be able to start their private kindergarten next year. Last month I was talking to the director about Aiden's progress, and said something about him being 3.... turns out, he will not be able to start kindergarten next year after all, because he is to young. Even though right now he test as a kindergarten. SO, what to do right?? We were able to sign him up 3x a week at another school, (where he has been going on Saturdays since just before he turned 2). This school will continue to teach him on a kindergarten level, or higher as he progresses. Needless to say, Aiden has the most hectic schdule of all of us, but he seems to really enjoy it! He is learning SO much, it really is amazing!!

We just got Aiden's school pictures today, so be on the look out for one of those in your mail box real soon.

There is TONS more to update on, but all that will have to wait for another day.

Until then.....Check out our photo albums, ton's of new pictures; and still more to come!

Doing Great!

We got Ryann's first report card in the mail today, and surprise - surprise she is doing great! We are so proud of our smart little angel! She seems SO much happier at school this year - still no complaints about being board, or already knowing what they are learning! She is doing awesome!

Keep up the good work baby girl!

Freaking lovely

So, were happy no one was hurt - but seriously what a way to end the day?!

Sweet talker...

I asked Aiden after dinner if he wanted to make some cookies. His response:

"That's what I'm talking about, baby!"

I have no clue where he comes up with these things, but seriously - how funny is that?!

Not so much....

In case you were wondering, we are still here. Life is busy busy, but what else is new?
As busy as we are, we don’t really have much to report. Ryann has her first loose tooth, so it’s only a matter of time before I’m posting some adorable snaggle tooth pictures of our little princess.

Ryann was home last weekend, and I can not explain how happy Aiden was to have his big sister back!! They got to attend a super hero story time at Aiden’s reading school. I wish you could have all been there when I picked them up… Aiden is BAWLING, because he is having such a wonderful time he doesn’t want to leave. Ryann was SO excited to tell me all the fun things they did that she couldn’t get a word out straight. They even go to meet Batman!! I was so happy to hear they had such a good time. Thats them in the picture above dressed as super heroes, ready to head to story time.
I guess that’s us in a nutshell right now. I’ve uploaded a TON of new pix and videos, so check those out when you get a chance

Welcome to Pre-K!!!

Aiden had a wonderful first day at Pre-K! He loves his new teacher and all his new friends. This week is their "get to know me" week. They will start their curriculum next week. I can't wait to hear all about his wonderful days at school!

*More pictures from his first day in our albums*

Summer comes to an end...

Both kids start back to school tomorrow. Our big girl Ryann starts FIRST grade! Our little man is starting Pre-K. If your trying to figure the math on that one, it doesn't add up. His teachers all agree he needs to start kindergarten NEXT year, so he got moved up to pre-k for this school year. Mommy and Daddy are so proud, but still have very mixed emotions about this. Both kids are so excited about the new school year.

We had an awesome summer. We got to enjoy a ton of fun things as a family - we made some great memories this summer, that's for sure! I'm working on getting the newest pictures uploaded, so check out our albums to see a glimpse of our awesome summer! Until next time....

above, Ryann and Aiden saying good bye :(

Soccer Season Wrap Up

Ryann had the opportunity to be on an awesome soccer team this year. Her coach and team-mates were amazing. Ryann's skills improved so much from last year to this, and the change form the beginning of the season to the end was like night and day. I know she came away from this season feeling like a champ - and she should! The Smoothie's lost only one game this season, and that was only by one point! The Smoothies ended their season w/ a party today. Ryann was awarded the Great Defender award!!

*Pictures from the party are up*

Saturday, August 16, 2008

She shoots, she scores!!!!

Ryann played her second to last game today. The Smoothies had an awesome game, and our big girl Ryann really helped put some point on the board, scoring THREE goals! She was SO on her game today, doing amazing at defense (which she seems to excel at) and offense. She made herself and the rest of us so proud, and more importantly; she had a great time!

*I added some videos from today's game in our albums*

How cute is this??

Aiden singing his colors in spanish. Sorry he is on his side....

He really does know how to sit still!

Friday, July 25, 2008

Check out the video below!

When Ryann got came here at the beginning of the summer she couldn't really swim, but would you look at her now! She swam the entire width of the pool!! GO RYANN!!!!

Oh, and I have no clue why it uploaded in warp speed - but you get the point.

Look What Ryann Can Do!!

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

HELLO!!

Where did the last month go??! Sorry to leave you guys hanging. I just don’t have the time to keep up with this thing like I use to. We have been BUSY. Ryann has been home with us since late June. We just LOVE her being her! She is attending Aiden’s school while daddy and I are working. They are learning so much, both academically and socially. Adam and I are so happy with this school. Both kids have wonderful teachers and class mates.

As if work wasn’t keeping us busy, the kids’ academic, social and extra curricular calendars as well as Adam’s soccer schedule have us going non-stop! Not that we’re complaining, in fact we LOVE that they are involved in so much! Both kids have homework that has to be done during the week, and then there is soccer practice, gymnastics, soccer games, reading school, birthday parties… the list goes on. This is the parent I always wanted to be! We are so blessed!

Speaking of birthday parties…. Ryann turned SIX, yeah you read that right; six on the 13th. We had a surprise party for her on Saturday. If there ever was a spoiled child, it’s that little girl! My gosh, she is LOVED!! I still can’t believe she is going to start FIRST grade this fall; it’s just crazy! I just know she is going to be such a great student – she is just too smart!
She has made some really great friends since coming here in June. According to Ryann she has found a new best friend in Bailey. We’ve run into a few of her friends from school while out running errands, and I have to say I LOVE watching her interact with all these little girls; she is having the time of her life!

Aiden is growing TOO FAST. Someone tell me how to stop it!! His gymnastics coach is getting ready to move him again. You know how much I love to brag about these kids… according to the age requirements he should have JUST moved into the class he is in now, and stay put until he is 5. But at 3.5 they are going to move him up again. We are so proud of our little guy! His reading skills are improving every day. He is now reading 90-100 word books! Needless to say, he keeps us beaming with pride; just like his big sister.

Ryann and Aiden have yet to really have a fight this summer. I’m guessing because unlike before they spend most of the day apart, so they really enjoy the quality time we all get to spend together in the evenings as a family.
We’ve had the opportunity to do some pretty fun things together as a family so far this summer. Our Fourth of July celebrations were just fantastic! We did our annual trip out to Southlake for the fireworks display, and shopping. This year Uncle Joe and Aunt Kim brought there brood and we had a great time! Then we headed out to Gamma and Papa’s for some fun in the pool and more family time.
We took the kids to their first baseball game. It was HOT, so the down pour just before the game was welcomed. Plus I think the kids had more fun playing in the rain than watching the actual game. We were right next to the bull pin, which Aiden thought was amazing. They both LOVE the new gloves they scored at the gift shop too.
Then for my birthday, yep I’ve entered my late twenties; we headed out to Medieval Times. I’ve wanted to take the kids there for the LONGEST time. We all had SO much fun!! It was fun just to sit and watch/listen to the kids yell for the knight they wanted to win, (BTW, Aiden always roots for the under dog) and talk to each other about what was going. It was a great night; I hope we can do it again soon.

Again, sorry it’s been so long since our last update; but as you can see we’ve just been too busy enjoying our summer. We hope you are all doing wonderful too. I WILL get pictures up tomorrow, so check those out when you can.

Busted...

I got a call from Aiden's school this morning. They wanted to let me know that Aiden and a classmate ran into each other. And because Aiden stands almost a whole head taller than most kids his age, his lip slammed into the other little boys head. Leaving Aiden with a cut and bruise on his lip.

Showing off his battle wound.

We headed back out the pool yesterday. Check out our little fish!

Here are my two favorite boys on Father's Day!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Monday, June 16, 2008

WHEW!

Boy, have we been misleading; you would look at this thing and think we've had nothing going on – HA! Life is great for us these days. We are so busy and loving it. I LOVE my job. Surprisingly we all have adapted to our new life style very easily. Aiden loves his new school. He is growing SO fast!

Mother's day was wonderful. I am the most spoiled mommy EVER. I got a weekend away with a great group of women to scrapbook! It was AWESOME!

We had our portraits made with a wonderful photographer, Erin (http://www.epcaptures.com/). We'll be doing some real family portraits with her at the end of the month with little miss. I can't wait! These were so fun to do.

Ryann finished up school last week. She has been counting down the days for a while now. We still believe Ryann was too advanced for the class she was in this past year, and we are hoping that she'll be in a class more her speed next year. We heard all year long how board she was in this class, and that she already knew how to do most things they were learning. She did learn how to read, and is now reading EVERYTHING. I love sitting and listening to her read, I don't care what it is; it sounds so sweet! She'll be here for soccer season again this summer, so be on the lookout for that schedule soon.

As I said, Aiden is growing so fast. He amazes us daily with the things he can say and how fast he is learning-- everything! He cracked his Gamma up last weekend talking about Galaxies, telling her Earth is in the Milky Way. His reading skills are improving more and more everyday. He can, (if he WANTS to) get through about a six page early reader by himself, (that is approximately a 40 word book.) His teacher tells us that he is very well liked by his classmates that they all love him being there. I think he tells me he has a new "best friend" every other day.

We love this summer like weather we've been having. Took advantage of it this weekend and went for our first swim of the year. Aiden was a little fish. He was swimming back and fourth between the walls, steps and Mommy and Daddy. Ryann is SO ready to go swimming. The last weekend she was with us we went and got her a new suit. I think she told us 700 times that she can't wait to learn how to swim this year. It will be so nice when they both can swim freely. Trips to the pool will be so much FUN!

I guess that's it for us now. I'm working on getting more pictures up in our photo albums, so check that out when you get a chance. Until next time; have a great summer!
