Our weekend... in pictures

WOW, did we have a great weekend?! Aiden and I drove to Greenville to pick Ryann up from school. She wasn't sure she wanted to make the long drive back home with us, but in the end I think she was happy she did. It took us over 3 hours to get home, there was traffic the WHOLE way. The kids did great, and the trip was actually a lot of fun! When we got home they got to work on a gingerbread haunted house. Both kids and Daddy seemed to think that was TONS of fun!

It turned out pretty cute, huh?

Saturday we headed out to the Pumpkin Express in Argyle. That place was great, and we hope to make this an annual thing. We got to ride a train, play on the bounce houses, go through a hay maze, and much much more!

After our afternoon nap we headed to the park. That was a lot of fun. Aiden just about gave me a heart attack working on this.

Ryann was so brave on the rock wall....

Then we headed to the safety fair. The kids got to see Care flight helicopters up close; we even got to see one take off. They got to climb in the fire trucks, and then we got to watch the SWAT team take over a car... that was so AWESOME!!!!

Sunday Gamma came over. We just hung out at home and played until Ryann's mommy came by to take her home. It was a very busy and FUN weekend.

Today I ran over the donations, for the family in my previous post: to Adrian's. All I can say is I'm surrounded by the best, most giving people I know - you guys ROCK!!

We are already for tomorrow. My little spider is ready to do some trick-or-treating!! Hope you all have an awesome and SAFE Halloween!

Many, MANY, many more pictures in our gallery!

A family in need....

I just recieved this email from my sister-in-law:

Hello moms out there I have a family in need of some support. Yesterday my daughters best friend (I am best friends with her mom as well) anyway her dads house burned to the ground. They lost EVERYTHING!!! They barely had time to get the kids out and they were not able to get there animals. They had the clothes on their backs and that was it. I feel absolutely horrible for this family of 5. (mom, dad, 2 boys and a little girl) To top things off they were renting. Please pray for this family they are in need of that desperately. I am also hoping to get some clothes donations and any household items for them as well. If you have any "extras" please respond to me. Here are their sizes for the clothes.....

Tooth Brush? No, no that can't be right!

This is how I started my morning:
Mommy, "Aiden go to the bathroom so I can brush your teeth."

Aiden, "I love my new teeth brush!!"

Mommy, "I'm so glad you love it, but it's a tooth brush; not teeth brush"

Aien, "No, no... You brush my TEETH, not just my tooth"

Mommy, mumbles to herself, "I can't argue with that!"

Aiden and I woke up to an empty house. Adam left for the week. We miss him like crazy when he is gone, but also LOVE the time to ourselves. We also woke up to a COLD front!! I already miss the warm summer sun!!!

We had a wonderful weekend!!! Friday was Adam's day off, so we took Aiden to play at Paradise Pond - we love that place!!
Saturday we had to redecorate the yard. We suspect a dog got a hold of our blow up pumpkins. I started our shopping trip saying, "I want cute Halloween, not scary" somehow that translated into turning the front yard into a grave yard - yeah not sure how that happened! It looks great though!!! Adam and Papa took a trip to Frisco Saturday night to watch some tennis. They got to watch McEnroe and Courier.
What is the fun of watching McEnroe, if you don't get to see him have it out with the ref??

Adam had a blast!!
Sunday Aiden got to try his hand at flying a kite. The weather was PERFECT. He thought it was pretty cool, but lost interest when we pulled out the football. In looking at the pictures you notice Aiden wearing gloves... yeah, I have no clue what that was all about. He asked to wear them when we were getting him dressed, and surprisingly they stayed on almost all morning.

We forgot all about the Blue Angels coming to town, but that turned out to to be okay, we got to see most of the show sitting in our front yard.

I would file Sunday and our trip to the park under wonderful! The whole day was filled with family time. I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Sunday.

I'm working on getting pictures from the weekend up, check back soon to see those - I'll edit this post later to add a few.

Hiding under a rock??

I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. I was happy to see all the emails that I needed to update, I'm so happy so many of our family/friends use this site to keep up with us. I don't even know where to begin. Adam and the kids are doing great in school. Adam had test in both classes last week, he was really worried - I still don't know why! He brought home a 100 and a 90 something. Aiden is learning SO much SO fast in reading school, he has amazed us all. We just got word from Ryann's mom that her first report card came in and it was AWESOME! She is excelling in everything, but again; I'm not surprised! Ryann also finally learned to tie her shoes!! I can't wait to see her do it. We worked and worked on this a week or so ago, she was SO close; but didn't get the hang of it before we had to take her back to her mommy. I know she is so proud of herself, and so are we!!!!

If you've checked out our pictures lately you'll see I've been slacking there too. We've just been SO busy - I promise to try and do better. Last weekend we took the kids to the park. We played and had a picnic and feed the ducks and goose. Ryann was a little scared, but stuck it out and had a good time! She told me she was a little afraid because they didn't say "quack", isn't that funny!

We also went to Carson and Cambree's homecoming game. They were so CUTE!!! They both did a great job!!!

Aiden played his first game of "football" while we were there too. He is such a big boy! The kids that he was playing with were 4 and older... he did a great job keeping up, and he wasn't much smaller than any of them -I love my big boy!!!

I'm sure I'm rambling... that tends to happen when I haven't updated in a while...sorry. I've started scrap booking again. I didn't really know just how far behind I am. I'll get caught up one day. I just finished up his first birthday.... and I'm now planning his 3rd! I've got a lot to do!!

We're all ready for Halloween. Aiden is SO excited! He is going to be a spider. I can't help but think he picked it just to freak out his sister. You see, Ryann HATES spiders; and Aiden being a true little brother thinks that is SO funny! I told him he was going to be the cutest little spider ever, and he told me, "No Mommy, I won't be cute; I be very very scary!" Isn't that too funny? I have been enjoying my little boy so much these days. He is so sweet and smart, and FUN! He keeps me smiling, that's for sure.

I guess that's it for now... pictures are up - check them out!

Happy Anniversary!

What an amazing three years!! We did most of our celebrating a few weeks ago in College Station, so we just went out for a nice dinner here. If you haven't been yet, go to the Melting Pot. The food was so yummy, and it's a lot of fun!

Those four letter words!

Adam and Aiden are sitting in the living room, watching the fighting Texas Aggies play some football. Aiden has had me just about rolling on the ground hearing him yell, "Go, go, goo!" and "Get it!", "Throw the ball!!" All very cute and innocent phrases. Then what do I hear??? "Awww SHIT!" Yes, you read that right. Adam got onto him, "No Aiden don't say that word, it's not a nice word..." I whisper, well did you say it first? To my surprise his answer was no. That means Aiden has picked up that word.... I'm first to say, it's most likely my fault, that word escapes my mouth in the car more often then I care to admit to. Gamma is always saying you hear yourself in your kids, lesson here - mommy has a potty mouth, and is going to do MUCH better watching what I say in front of my little parrot!

School Days

Aiden's first day at Little Texas Scholar, or "reading school" was Saturday. It was an emotional morning. Aiden was doing really great, and then every kid in the class started crying. It turned in to and Mommy and me class for a few minutes. Once Aiden was settled and happy I slipped out the door. He is so excited about reading school, he talks about it daily. We are really happy we decided to go this route.

Ryann was home this weekend. We have all missed her SO much! It's amazing how much bigger she looks, after only three weeks. School is going good for her too. She couldn't remember much about school, so I don't have any details. She did tell us, "Mrs. West doesn't teach, we just play and play at school" I hope that isn't correct! She seems pretty happy with school, so that's good. We had a wonderful weekend with both our babies here. We can't wait for Ryann to come back.

Lots of new pictures up, they are all from Saturday because I forgot to take my camera to Gamma and Papa's house on Sunday. I'm trying to get back in the habit of taking pictures daily...we'll see.

Hope you are all doing great!

Aiden has a girlfriend!!!

Or so I hear. My friend Monique and I go to the gym every morning. She has a four year old little girl, who Aiden gets along with fabulously. Monique called me yesterday to let me know Lilly, (her daughter) told her Aiden was Lilly's boyfriend. Lilly told her mom, "Aiden is a really good kid, and he likes to play in the rain with me". "He is my boyfriend." How cute is that?!

We don't know much new. Aiden is doing great in swim school. He has already made some progress, we are so proud of him! Gymnastics is still going great! He still looks forward to going every week, and hates when class ends.

Aiden will start "reading school" this weekend. We are so very excited! It's the Little Texas Scholars Early Childhood Reading Center. They teach kids as young as three to read. We would love if that could happen, but are just excited to have him in a class room setting. We thought about putting him into a preschool class, but he already knew everything they were going to be teaching. We just couldn't see paying someone to reinforce, when I'm home with him already to do that. In this class he will learn things, that I have NO clue how to tech him at this age. Plus, it will give Mommy and Daddy some much needed time together - interruption free! We can hardly wait!

Ryann will be back home with us this weekend. We haven't had her for a few weeks, and it's beginning to wear on us all. We miss her Soooooo much! We can't wait to hear all about school, and what she is learning, and about all the new friends I'm sure she has made.

Expect LOTS of new pictures from this weekend. Have a great one!

I love a good deal!

We were out running errands yesterday after noon. I needed to run into Walmart and pick up a few things. We walked by some clearance isles, and HAD to stop and take a look. Turns out that at that particular moment that Walmart was offering half off the clearance price on all the toys. Knocking prices down to at most a 1/4 of the original price... needless to say, our Christmas shopping is now half done! This was my favorite find...

Aiden had a blast playing on it yesterday evening.

If you guys were wondering where the post about Ryann's first day of school was...
Here it is - kinda. We were unable to make the trip to be there with her. We did get a call after school ended that day. She told us she had a wonderful day. Recess was her favorite part. She said she likes her teacher. Ryann started on Monday the 27, and has been enjoying school since. Her mommy was only able to snap a few pictures. Thanks for sharing, Melony!

Well, I really need to get to cleaning. Hope you all have a great week!

Ryann has a new cousin!!!

Dean Alexander Davis arrived Friday August 31st at 1:10 a.m. Dean weighed 7.0 and was 20" long. Mommy and baby are doing great! They were able to return home just hours after the baby was born, how awesome is that?!!

Ryann has already met her baby cousin. I heard she didn't really know what to think of him at first... he was screaming and crying. Looks like it didn’t take any time for her to warm up to the little guy!!

Our Anniversary weekend...

Adam and I celebrated early this year. I think we've decided that this will be our annual celebration, a trip to College Station, a room at Messina Hof and an Aggie game. This was our second year, and it was an absolute BLAST! We started off with a trip to the book store on campus... boy, are we getting old! Then we headed over to visit Jenny and her brood. After that we checked into our room. It was beautiful! We then headed out to an Aggie soccer game. It was fun, our girls WON!!! We met up with some friends at North Gate, and then headed to Harry's. I swear I saw most of Normangee.... it was fun!

Saturday we did some more shopping, and then headed out to the game. We had awesome seats, thanks to Jason and Jennifer - thanks again guys! It was a great game! Then more fun out with friends. It ended too soon, that's for sure.

I was eager to get home to my baby! Although, he isn't much of a baby anymore. It's safe to say Aiden is potty trained. It's great, but very bittersweet; almost feels like he doesn't need me anymore. I know that isn't true, but it really feels that way....

Thanks for reading, check out all the pictures from our trip. Enjoy your Labor Day!
